The 60th IADS & YDW
World Annual Dental Congress 2013

The Committee Meetings
Every Year the IADS Congress holds the meetings of all Standing Committee that are present in the IADS
Prophylaxis Committee
What is it all about?
Dental caries is a disease that affects the majority of the population, despite an extensive network of dentists, dental hygienists and preventive measures. Although for most of the people brushing their teeth may be commonplace issue which everybody can handle, in fact there are many problems caused by wrong brushing technique.
There exist many myths about brushing teeth. We have been learning these mistakes since childhood so it would appear to be very important and necessary to show and explain people how to use right dental tools in nonviolent way and motivate them to take care about their oral health.
As a future dentist, we want to participate in prevention because we realize how important it is. And it is also one of the reasons why the Prophylaxis Committee was established.

Score Committee
The Standing Committee on Research and Education
The Standing Committee on Research and Education (SCORE) stresses the need for the students’ involvement within the dental scientific community by offering opportunities for the ones who desire to make a difference within the society.
Dentistry relies on research work and here we are to develop the International Dental Research Program, which offers worldwide students and young graduates the opportunity to participate in a dental research project abroad. The Program currently runs in 20 Universities across 14 countries.
SCORE also encourages dental students and foster advancement of their professional and scientific standards through projects like: IADS Lecture Contest, "Dental Students' Research" Journal, The Lecture of the Month
During the Second Part of the SCORE Meeting in Italy, the National Scientific Officers of IADS will gather together in order to establish development policies of the educational and research projects in their countries. The first part of the Meeting will take place in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Training Committee
Train new trainers and sub regional trainings (TNT/SRT) is a unique program designed by students in topics related to the soft skills such as leadership, project management, stress and time management, fundraising, and presentation skills. Soft skills are increasingly becoming the hard skills of today’s work force. It’s just not enough to be highly trained in technical skills, without developing the softer, interpersonal and relationship-building skills that help people to communicate and collaborate effectively.
This program can be very beneficial on both the individual level, for the trainers and trainees; and on the organizational level, for the IADS. On the individual level, soft skills indulge positive energy in human relationship for working in symbiosis and explore infinite capabilities at institutional and doctoral level. On the organizational level, this program will Improve IADS member skills in a variety of fields, Increase the performance of IADS due to improving leadership skills and moreover Increase the benefits that an individual gains from IADS.
